Overview

Since its inception in 1877, Wolves has been a highly influential team in English football, notably for being one of the founder members of the Football League and for pioneering European competition through its world-famous ‘floodlit friendlies’. The 2014-2015 season is now set to be an exciting one for Wolves. Having secured the Sky Bet League One title under Head Coach, Kenny Jackett, the Club has returned to the Sky Bet Championship.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Head of Commercial Affairs will be responsible for developing and executing the club’s commercial strategy across a variety of areas including Sponsorship, Hospitality, Advertising, Conferencing & Banqueting, Catering, Lottery and Retail & Merchandising.

Key Responsibilities
Develop and present a comprehensive sales strategy designed to achieve the Club’s short, medium and long term corporate revenue aspirations across the above mentioned areas of responsibility.
Take ownership of the delivery of the sales strategy through whilst taking a pro-active and ‘hands-on’ approach to driving multiple commercial revenue streams.
Manage the commercial budget process, taking responsibility for revenue generation and costs against defined P&L’s goals. This includes the setting of budgets, delivery of monthly forecasts, payroll as well as administration/authorisation of spend.
Pro-actively lead, inspire, develop, motivate and appraise direct reports and wider teams responsible for achieving the commercial goals.

Skills & Experience Required
Essential:
The Head of Commercial Affairs must have at least 5 years’ experience of delivering commercial growth in a high-profile, pressurised environment preferably within a professional sport, hospitality or sales environment.

Other key qualities include:
Ability to devise sales strategies, manage complex teams, lead on financial information and understand the importance of the P&L and consistently over-deliver against those financial targets.
Essential to be ‘hands on’, a ‘doer’ and ‘problem solver’ who works on their own initiative
Good influencing skills and ability to quickly build and sustain strong working relationships at all levels.
Must be able to communicate and present ideas and concepts in a highly professional manner.
A team player who understands the need to work collaboratively with colleagues and peers alike.
Be well presented, well organised, extremely hard working and prepared to put in long hours.
